This Geneva newborn photo shoot at home is a little special. Indeed, you already know the baby of the day, Eliana, when she was in her mum’s baby bump. I have photographed the whole family for their maternity photo shoot at Geneva lake. Hiring a photographer for a pregnancy photo session before your newborn photo shoot is quite a good idea as it has multiple beneficial effects for the newborn photo session. We capture your family moments before your baby’s birth, but it is also a great opportunity for family photos when you already have children. Nyon newborn photo: Elina, 15 days old

Again, some newborn photo! Yes, I particularly love accompanying new parents in such an important moment as the birth of their child to create these beautiful images in the following days of baby’s birth. This time, I traveled to Nyon to photograph the little baby Elina, aged only 15 days old. At this age, your baby is already in a phase during which so many changes have occured as your baby grows so fast. For a professional photographer specialized in newborn photography, we know such a baby will sleep less and will be opening the eyes more often. Often, photographers you will contact to learn more about how a newborn photo session works will tell you the optimum period to make a photo shoot for your baby is around 4 to 12 days.

As a newborn photographer since 2010, I know how to adapt the photo shoot to older babies who are already 15 days old or even 1 month old (see examples such as Gaël’s 1 month old baby photo shoot and Alexandre’s 1 month baby photo session). A baby photo session differs therefore and can be more challenging with a baby going through colics, which happen quite usually at this time of baby growth.

As a birth photographer, I travel to parents’ home to make the birth photo session of their baby a few days after baby is born. Even if I am based in Lausanne, Switzerland as a photographer, I usually travel into all the French-speaking Switzerland but also to France with Pontarlier as an example. Custom officers are always quite surprised by all the material I am traveling with for newborn safety and comfort but with some explanation about the fact that I make newborn photos at parents’ home, everything goes well ;).

Newborn photo shoot: Abigaël, Vaud

This newborn photo shoot is special to me as it was not an usual one. Abigaël’s mum had booked her baby’s spot for a newborn photo shoot during her pregnancy, which I usually recommend to future mums and dads if they want to secure their babies’ spot in my agenda as I accept a limited number of babies per month. But something went a little wrong when Abigaël was born and had a medical problem, she had to undergo some surgery. Hopefully, everything went well and Abigaël’s photo shoot was planned later on, which was 2 months after her birth.

For a 2-month old baby, it is difficult to warranty newborn styled photos can be done. It’s usual for me to adapt the newborn photo session procedure and poses to older babies (1 month, 1.5-month old) to baby’s age, but at 2 months, we generally go to baby photography instead of pure newborn photography. But it was without counting on baby Abigaël who made a small snap during her photo shoot so that I can offer her parents newborn-style photos.

The last newborn photo shoots published on the blog have been exclusively with baby boys: babies Léo and Erwan if you did not seen them already. We are also leaving Neuchâtel to come back to the Lausanne region as I am a Lausanne photographer. This time, I am showing you the newbonr photos of baby Alyssa who, to tell the truth is not a newborn at the time of the photo shoot as she was already a 1 month and a half old baby girl. It is as a Lausanne photographer that I captured the lovely portraits of this lovely baby in the west part of Lausanne.

Your baby is more intelligent than you!

In this post, I wanted to show you a quite surprising movie about the logical mind of your baby. We are used to think that our children are less intelligent than adults, and yet, they have suck a logical ability which is superior to ours and they know how to understand problems quite fastly and make impressive logical deductions. This movie shows some experiments made by Laura Schulz’s scientific group at the MIT, which studies the logical mindset of babies and children. You will see real experiments made with babies to evaluate how they use their mind to logically deduct things from a small data sample, which is quite interesting to look at. If you want to learn more about how your baby thinks and use his logic, I can only recommend you to watch the movie until the end :)!
