In this Christmas and holiday season, I wrote about the gift card you can offer to your family and friends for Christmas. This gift card is also a great present for a birthday, a birth, or just when you want to gift someone a truly unique experience. It was the case for Mélissa and Aurélien who received a great present before their baby’s birth thanks to a gift card. They received this pregnancy photo session gift and chose the lovely place of Vufflens-le-Château near Morges, Vaud to make this speculiar photo session before their baby’s birth.

Time flies so fast! The newborn photo session of Joshua has been waiting to be published on my blog for a long time but I did not have time to do so before. I have had the pleasure to meet, as a Morges photographer, Joshua and his parents for his newborn photo session at home.

Newborn photo shoot: Abigaël, Vaud

This newborn photo shoot is special to me as it was not an usual one. Abigaël’s mum had booked her baby’s spot for a newborn photo shoot during her pregnancy, which I usually recommend to future mums and dads if they want to secure their babies’ spot in my agenda as I accept a limited number of babies per month. But something went a little wrong when Abigaël was born and had a medical problem, she had to undergo some surgery. Hopefully, everything went well and Abigaël’s photo shoot was planned later on, which was 2 months after her birth.

For a 2-month old baby, it is difficult to warranty newborn styled photos can be done. It’s usual for me to adapt the newborn photo session procedure and poses to older babies (1 month, 1.5-month old) to baby’s age, but at 2 months, we generally go to baby photography instead of pure newborn photography. But it was without counting on baby Abigaël who made a small snap during her photo shoot so that I can offer her parents newborn-style photos.

When it is possible, a newborn photoshoot takes place in the following days of your baby’s birth. When I write in the following days, I mean aournd 10 days maximum. However, it can happen that we cannot make the newborn photo session in the ten first days after your baby’s birth. Sometimes, we have to wait until your baby is 1 month old. At this age, it is usually more complicated to make a newborn photoshoot as your baby will sleep less. To put your baby in the poses you see in my newborn photographer portfolio, we need your baby to be asleep. For a 1 month-old baby, I therefore adapt your baby photoshoot according to her sleeping and awake times to always create beautiful pictures that you will love seeing again and again for years to come :).
