After Abigaël’s newborn photo session, let’s continue with baby Oscar, who I had the pleasure to photograph some days after his birth near Geneva as a newborn photographer. Oscar’s parents had received a gift card for their newborn photoshoot and therefore discovered this unknown phtography specialty.
The last newborn photo shoots published on the blog have been exclusively with baby boys: babies Léo and Erwan if you did not seen them already. We are also leaving Neuchâtel to come back to the Lausanne region as I am a Lausanne photographer. This time, I am showing you the newbonr photos of baby Alyssa who, to tell the truth is not a newborn at the time of the photo shoot as she was already a 1 month and a half old baby girl. It is as a Lausanne photographer that I captured the lovely portraits of this lovely baby in the west part of Lausanne.
On LunaCat Studio blog, you mostly see newborn photos as I am specialized in newborn photography. However, I also photograph babies growing up in their first years of life. Your baby grows so fast, not only in the first days after her birth, but also in the first year. For example, we can make a baby photoshoot in the first months when your baby can keep her head straight, but also later on when your baby can sit by herself. As well, a baby photoshoot can take place when your baby walks. I therefore had the pleasure to see again the lovely Iris who had grown so fast since her newborn photoshoot.
I met Calvin for his newborn photo session 8 days after his birth in Nyon, Vaud. At this age, your baby will still sleep a lot and as a newborn photographer, I can easily manipulate him and put him in curly and cute poses. Sometimes, the baby will resist sleeping because he wants to know what is going on around him as it is not usual to see a newborn photographer (mostly with all the photo equipment I am bringing for his safety and comfort).
During Calvin’s photo session, we used various family objects to customize his photoshoot, such as this wonderful paper creation made by Calvin’s name! I can just admire her for such patience, this is a lovely creation :).
As I just explained, Calvin tried to sneak around to see what was going on during his newborn photo session and I used this time for shooting him wide awake and with his eyes open, as well as displaying his cute little feet, hands and face features.
It was then time for Calvin to go back to his dreams because, as little as he is, he needs a lot of sleeping hours!

The best conditions for a newborn photo session is between 4 and 15 days after your baby’s birth. That is why I always recommend parents to book their session slot during pregnancy so that the photoshoot can take place fast after your baby’s birth when he still sleeps a lot and can keep curly positions easily. Yet, it happens that, for whatever reason, the newborn photo session has to be postponed. In this case, you just have to be aware that we may have more difficulties to get the poses you see in my portfolio because your baby will sleep less and be less curly. Still, I can tell you, we will make pictures as beautiful as before 15 days of age :)! As an example, we could not make Alexandre’s photo session before 1 month-old, but I am sure you will still love his pictures :).
