A newborn photoshoot at home is a unique experience, both intimate and full of emotion. It allows you to capture the very first days of your baby’s life in a familiar and reassuring environment. However, behind the softness of these images lies an absolute priority: newborn safety during the photoshoot.
It is better making the baby photo shoot in the first days after baby’s birth for an optimal newborn photo session at home. But sometimes, there are cases when, even booked during pregnancy, the newborn photo session is made later than planned. In Monira’s case, I met her 6 weeks after her birth, simply because her parents were in Montreux on the Geneva lakeside for their holidays.
In the title, I put the mention of a 1 month baby photo shoot but it is in fast a 1 and a half month baby photo session but it would have been too long for a title ;). Starting 1 month old baby, your baby sleeps less (it is already the case after 15 days of life to be more precise) and it gives us less freedom for the photo poses. لعبة بلبل It is therefore why the newborn photo session is best done before 1 month old but can be made after 1 month old with special modifications of the poses following your baby flexibility and liking.
Photographing a baby is a real honor for me, which I remember during every baby photo shoot. By publishing baby photos on my photography website, my blog and on social media, I measure every time how much parents are confident in my photography services and allow me to share my work with future parents so that they can see a teaser of what awaits them during a newborn photo session. A baby photo shoot is always something new, a stressful moment but also so peculiar for a mum and dad.
This newborn photo shoot is special to me as it was not an usual one. Abigaël’s mum had booked her baby’s spot for a newborn photo shoot during her pregnancy, which I usually recommend to future mums and dads if they want to secure their babies’ spot in my agenda as I accept a limited number of babies per month. But something went a little wrong when Abigaël was born and had a medical problem, she had to undergo some surgery. Hopefully, everything went well and Abigaël’s photo shoot was planned later on, which was 2 months after her birth.
For a 2-month old baby, it is difficult to warranty newborn styled photos can be done. It’s usual for me to adapt the newborn photo session procedure and poses to older babies (1 month, 1.5-month old) to baby’s age, but at 2 months, we generally go to baby photography instead of pure newborn photography. But it was without counting on baby Abigaël who made a small snap during her photo shoot so that I can offer her parents newborn-style photos.
The last newborn photo shoots published on the blog have been exclusively with baby boys: babies Léo and Erwan if you did not seen them already. We are also leaving Neuchâtel to come back to the Lausanne region as I am a Lausanne photographer. This time, I am showing you the newbonr photos of baby Alyssa who, to tell the truth is not a newborn at the time of the photo shoot as she was already a 1 month and a half old baby girl. It is as a Lausanne photographer that I captured the lovely portraits of this lovely baby in the west part of Lausanne.
On LunaCat Studio blog, you mostly see newborn photos as I am specialized in newborn photography. However, I also photograph babies growing up in their first years of life. Your baby grows so fast, not only in the first days after her birth, but also in the first year. For example, we can make a baby photoshoot in the first months when your baby can keep her head straight, but also later on when your baby can sit by herself. As well, a baby photoshoot can take place when your baby walks. I therefore had the pleasure to see again the lovely Iris who had grown so fast since her newborn photoshoot.
